Flexo Ink

The ink used in flexographic printing machinery is mainly environmentally friendly water-based ink. It has the characteristics of low environmental impact, low residue, and low energy consumption.

Low Environmental Impact

Water-based flexographic inks use water as a solvent carrier and emit virtually no volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere during either the printing or production processes.

Low Residue

Water-based flexographic inks do not contain organic solvents, greatly reducing the amount of toxic substances remaining on the surface of printed products. They are particularly suitable for products with strict hygiene requirements and high safety standards, such as cold beverage paper cups and bubble tea paper cups.

Low Energy Consumption

Flexographic water-based inks have lower viscosity compared to other inks, which makes them less prone to plate blinding and ink build-up. Its curing speed can exceed 500m/min, and it consumes less than one-fifth of the energy required for traditional heat curing, making it ideal for large-scale printing of products such as beer paper cups, wine beverage paper cups, and cola sprite paper cups.

Printing Plates

Products such as latte paper cups, milkshake paper cups, and ice water paper cups have high precision requirements and are generally printed using thin plates.

Thin flexo plates have high hardness, excellent dot reproduction, and finer LPI (lines per inch) reproduction. The 1.70mm-thick thin flexo plate is the most widely used, primarily for printing and varnishing on products such as milk packaging, cardboard boxes, plastic films, labels, and paper bags. High-quality thin flexo plates can achieve a resolution of 100–175 lines per inch, with multi-colour registration accuracy within 0.02mm. They offer excellent reproduction of text and graphics, rich tonal gradations, vibrant colours, and superior visual appeal.

At the same time, flexographic printing plates have a short production cycle, are easy to transport, and have a high print durability. Depending on the product type, their print durability can reach hundreds of thousands to millions of prints.

Printing Efficiency

Flexographic printers are not only highly automated but also highly adaptable to different substrates, thereby greatly improving printing efficiency.

High Automation

The flexography machine utilizes an anilox roller inking system. Compared to offset and letterpress presses, this eliminates the complex inking mechanism and provides stable ink delivery, eliminating ink-water balance and emulsification issues, and requiring minimal manual intervention. This significantly simplifies the operation and maintenance of the flexographic printing press, improving the printing speed and efficiency of products such as yogurt paper cups, ice cream paper cups, and lemonade paper cups. Furthermore, it offers faster ink control and responsiveness, stable quality, excellent color reproduction, no ghosting, and low scrap rates.

Inline Processing

Flexo printing machines are more suitable for combination printing and can perform post-printing processes such as double-sided printing, hot stamping, varnishing, laminating, die-cutting, waste removal, and slitting. It has strong inline processing capabilities, supporting roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet operations. Functions can be added as needed, offering high flexibility and short production cycles.
